Shakira M. Brown to speak during National ASBDC Annual Conference

Conference ( ) taking place at the Long Beach Convention Center September 3-6, 2019 in Long Beach, CA at the Long Beach Convention Center. Every year the ASBDC national conference attracts 1,300+ SBDC advisors, trainers and directors from all over the nation who together for professional development and networking. Their passion for small business can be seen in the 140+ workshops that overflow into the hallways, and in the exhibit hall where they eagerly mingle with each other seeking the latest information on products and services that can ensure the success of their small business clients. The theme of this year’s conference is “Exchange & Experience.” Brown, an award-winning branding and business communications strategist, will be leading a talk for management level pros to be come more effective leaders during the conference.

“I have been an SBDC Consultant for four years at The College of New Jersey, so it feels great to be invited to speak at the national conference,” said Brown. “I’m pleased to be able to share my insights to encourage center leaders to reach higher and to advise small businesses to best present their brands to the world.” The ASBDC is a division of the Federal Small Business Administration.

On September 6, 2019, Brown will be leading two talks. First she will address center leaders and state directors from around the country and the U.S. Virgin Islands in her 90-minute talk titled, “Tapping into Creative Thinking and Innovation to Reach Annual Center Goals.” Brown will share her insights on how to create the space and infrastructure for innovation to occur. She will deliver a second presentation in Marketing/Sales/Social Media track titled, “Build a Brand, Change Your Client’s Futures,” which will provide center leaders and consultants with details of why it important for small businesses to have defined brand messages that effectively demonstrates a competitive advantage and offer a defined purpose, vision and values.
