Deborah Hospital Foundation’s 12th Annual Red Tie Gala

Over 375 supporters turned out for the Deborah Hospital Foundation’s 12th Annual Red Tie Gala on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing. The event raised over $250,000 for cardiac care at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Burlington County.

This year’s event emcee was 6ABC News Anchor Rick Williams, a Delaware Valley icon known to millions of viewers and fans from Action News at Noon and Action News at 5:00 p.m. broadcasts. The evening also featured special entertainment from ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Pros. Highlighted at the Gala were dancers Dmitry Chaplin, Anna Trebunskaya, Damian Whitewood, and Ekaterina Fedosova. The four dancers have an impressive range of professional credentials – Emmy nominations, international and national dance competition awards, multiple TV show appearances, and of course, their outstanding and beloved performances on Dancing with the Stars!

The Deborah Hospital Foundation Gala is in support of Deborah Heart and Lung Center, which is New Jersey’s only specialty cardiac, pulmonary and vascular hospital, which in 95 years has provided care to over 1.5 million patients from every U.S. state and from over 96 countries. As well Deborah is a a ground-breaking hospital providing the most sophisticated level of care in the country for cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular procedures, and recognized by the federal government as one of the very few 4-Star Rated hospitals in the tri-state region. As companion to this outstanding medical care, Deborah also has a founding mission “There is No Price on Life.” In its nearly 100-year history, Deborah has never billed a patient, making it one of only three hospitals nationally to not balance bill. The Foundation’s Gala is just one way that the Hospital is able to fund this mission.

“It is a great pleasure to once again be part of this amazing event,” said Gala Chair, Carole Himmelstein. “The work done at Deborah — from its clinical research studies, to the brand-new, cutting-edge innovation, and to its robust fellowship program, training the next generation of doctors — is incredible. Knowing that in addition to receiving the very best medical care, patients don’t have to worry about financial stresses during times of medical emergencies is truly wonderful. It is gratifying to support such a dedicated organization.”

Deborah Heart and Lung Center and Deborah Hospital Foundation’s President and CEO, Joseph Chirichella, agreed. “We strive to attain the absolute highest level of medical care and a great patient experience. At the heart of care are our patients – our neighbors, friends, and family – and here at Deborah we strive to keep patients at the center of our focus. Our mission of compassionate kindness ensures that no one leaves Deborah with financial worries because of medical bills. In this day and age, that truly relieves a huge source of stress on families. I am excited that the Foundation is able to support this mission.”
