Mercer County Small Business Outreach Program

In July of 2018, Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes and the Mercer County Board of Chosen Freeholders passed Ordinance No. 2018-5 establishing a Mercer County “Set-Aside Program” for qualified Mercer County Minority, Women, Veteran-owned or Small Businesses.

The Set-Aside Program also referred to as the Mercer County Small Business Outreach Program, reserves 10 percent of the dollar value of all the County’s goods, which total more than $70M in professuional services and construction contracts each year. The program allocates 30% for qualified minority businesses; 30% for qualified women-owned businesses; 30% for qualifed veteran-owned and diabled veteran-owned businesses; and 10% for small businesses.

Administrative, Financial, and Management Services, Office Supplies, Paper, Printing Equipment, and Related Products and Services,
Building Equipment, Supplies, Clothing, Laundry Equipment, and Supplies, Communication Equipment, and Services, Computers, Software, Supplies, and Services, Concessions, Catering, Vending: Mobile and Stationary, Food, Furniture, and Related Services, Hardware, Related Equipment, and Services Rental and Leasing Services, Highway Road Equipment, Janitorial and Cleaning Equipment, Supplies and Services, Maintenance and Equipment Repair, Medical Equipment, Supplies and Services, Miscellaneous Commodities and Services, Public Works, Park Equipment, and Construction Services, Safety and Protection Equipment and Related Services, Testing and Sampling Equipment and Services, Electrical, Engineering, HVAC, Plumbing, and Welding
Restrictions do apply, and vendors who are interested must hold a valid Business Registration Certificate from the Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services, and be registered with the Selective Assistance Vendor Information database prior to conducting business in the State of New Jersey and prior to the award of contract.
