Princeton, NJ – April 12, 2021 – The Princeton-Blairstown Center will host “Spring Into Action,” a hike and picnic fundraiser, at the Princeton Friends School on May 8.
The day includes several hiking options to accommodate different interests and age groups: an adult history hike of Princeton Battlefield will be led by Don Stryker, a volunteer with the Historical Society of Princeton, a guided family nature hike, and a self-guided hike will all be offered. The self-guided hike will use QR code stops along the route to share nature facts and ecological points of interest at participants’ own pace.
“This event was conceptualized as a fun, Covid-safe way to connect people to the mission of the Center while enjoying some of features that make the Princeton area unique,” said Pam Gregory, President and CEO of the Center. “We are looking forward to connecting with our community of supporters who are passionate about our Summer Bridge Program which provides academic and social skills enrichment to young people from historically marginalized communities in Trenton and Newark.”
Registrants will also receive their choice of catered meal that can be enjoyed pre- or post-hike on the beautiful grounds of the Princeton Friends School, adjacent to the Institute Woods property and Princeton Battlefield State Park. Facilitation staff from the Center will also be sharing socially-distanced activities similar to those offered in programming at the Center’s Blairstown Campus.
Children’s tickets are $40, Adult tickets are $75, Family four-pack tickets are $225, and sponsorships are available starting at $250. For more information, or to register for the event, please visit: https://princetonblairstown.org/events/2021/5/8/spring-into-action
