The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center at YWCA Princeton will open in September

Following the ongoing and successful reopening of its summer childcare program at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton, YWCA Princeton will welcome families to its brand-new childcare wing, The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center in September. The program will serve children ages 8 weeks to 6 years old, Monday through Friday from 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.

YWCA Princeton staff have undergone extensive training and follow health and safety protocols outlined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and the New Jersey Office of Licensing. These best practices, such as temperature and symptom screenings upon arrival, maintaining small class sizes with no interaction between classes, frequent hand washing, and other safety measures will continue at the new childcare wing.

While ensuring the safety and wellness of the children and YWCA Princeton staff is the highest priority, the curriculum remains educational and exciting. The program utilizes the Creative Curriculum and Learning Without Tears, which are research-based and developmentally appropriate practices that encourage growth in social-emotional, physical, and mental development. In addition, all classrooms are bilingual (English and Spanish) to support language acquisition. Above all, The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center at YWCA Princeton strives to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond, while supporting and empowering working families by providing affordable and accessible childcare.

The program will open mid-September, and a virtual ribbon cutting ceremony will be streamed on YWCA Princeton’s Facebook page. Visit the YW’s website for more information about the program and curriculum:
